It’s a little strange that those GHD stylers have un-matching bodies. I’d be inclined to double check with the salon that you purchased the stylers from to see if they are aware of any problems from other customers. The serial numbers on the GHD should match and should be verified by GHD.
It’s definitely important to sort this out so your styler is eligible for GHD’s 2-year warranty.

I have the same dilemma too. Mine was bought at a reputable stockist over the internet. The 2 codes didn’t match. I was able to register the code from the tag/cable successfully though, but not the code from the styler itself. I, however email GHD website about it. Still awaiting for reply.
Troubling to hear this is not an isolated incident. Will keep an eye on things in the salon and see if we hear any news about it from GHD!
I have the same problem. I called GHD and was told that they go by the serial number on the cord.
I have the same problem and the website i got it from has been checked to be okay from GHD also my cable code is okay. I have had my ghd’s for over three years and i’ve had no problems so far. Fingers crossed- I cant live without them. xXx
