Creating Different Looks with GHD Hair Straighteners

GHD hair straighteners aren’t just great for creating smooth, straight hairstyles. You can use the rounded barrel and penetrating heat of the GHD IV styler to create a variety of different styles to suit your mood.

Funky Flick for Shorter Hair

There’s no better way to show off that short, happening style than flicking out those layers, creating bounce and texture. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Wash your hair thoroughly to remove product build-up
  2. Blow dry as normal
  3. Clip your hair up in small, easy to manage sections (2″ across and 0.25″ deep)
  4. Slowly glide the ghd IV straighteners down your hair
  5. As you approach the ends (approx. 3″ from the ends), turn the straighteners slightly out, producing a soft, beautiful flick.
  6. Repeat for the other sections of your hair

To hold the look, use the Wella Lifetex Volume range of products to create that extra lift. Finish off by adding some Wella Punk Chic, the ultimate texturising paste.

Summer Waves

For longer hairstyles, you can create a shimmering, wavy look with minimal effort and the help of your GHD straighteners. This look is fab for those summer nights out.

  1. Wash and cleanse your hair
  2. Blow dry as normal
  3. Take a section of your hair (2″ across and 0.25″ deep) and place your hair in the straightening tongs as you would when straightening
  4. Slowly twist the straighteners backwards and then forward as you glide the stylers through your hair, creating a wave
  5. Repeat this action throughout all of the sections of your hair

Check out the Wella range of hair care products and match them up to your hair type. The right products will adequately prepare your hair for a variety of styling techniques and also keep your hair looking great after you’ve styled it.

Classic Straight Look

Having smooth, straight hair makes every woman feel good about herself. Here’s how to achieve this classic look:

  1. Wash and cleanse your hair using professional hair care products
  2. Blow dry and brush your hair using a Paddle Brush
  3. Take fine sections of your hair, starting at the nape area (2″ wide 0.25″ deep)
  4. Place your hair in the straightener plates and slowly glide the stylers through the hair
  5. Perfecting the perfect finish – curve the ends of your hair under as you approach the tips of your hair

A tip to stop your hair looking flat instead of smooth: pull your hair slightly out from the scalp to put a little bounce in it. You can also apply a small a amount of Straight Leave In cream before blow drying, and finish it off nicely with the Pure Glamour gloss serum.

Remember, these products are concentrated, so only use a small amount. Product build-up is the enemy of any style you’re trying to achieve.

Even when you’re using the best hair straighteners like the GHD IV styler, don’t forget to protect your hair from the heat before you start styling. Flat Iron Spray is a big must to ensure that your hair will always look great, even if you straighten it often.

you can also wash and blowdry you hair as normal then close the straighteners together and wrap a chunk of hair around it
    2 across and 0.25 thick
    this will create effortless waves
be careful not to burn you fingers!
you can use cheap gloves :D
and it also doesn’t damage you hair as much as its not as hot or intense for the hair.
